about

This album, with a duration of just over 13 hours at time of writing, is a collection of my initial explorations with the Ciat Lonbarde Cocoquantus and Plumbutter. Shorter, and more polished, versions of these recordings almost certainly will appear on future releases, so this is really a collection of drafts.

The recordings are presented in chronological order of recording, and my setup changed over time. The earlier recordings often clip into oblivion due to an issue with both the field recorder I was using not having an onboard pad, and the MS-70CDR pedal I was using not being able to handle the levels coming out of the Coco. Later recordings often clip intentionally, as I began running the Plumbutter through a TPA-200 for saturation. The later recordings also substitute the MS-70CDR for a DL4 and a Polara. A June-60 can also be heard processing bass on at least one recording as well.

My goals here were taking advantage of the quarantine in order to figure out a long-term live setup. This work is still ongoing, I have plans to build an attenuator box, and a banana compatible version of the Delay No More within the next few months. I also have a feeling that a Sidrax Organ will eventually enter this system, but most likely not until next year. I have no idea when I will be able to ever take this out into the world though....so I'm enjoying just playing it at home.

I may add additional recordings to this over time, I haven't decided yet if I want to do that or release more recordings in their own collections. I'll probably send out a note if I end up adding on to this one.

I recommend listening to this randomly, putting it on in the background, and just living in the soundscape. Listening to over 13 hours in one sitting would be.....inadvisable, especially with how many of the tracks are essentially noise. This isn't an album, it's more of a landscape to explore as you see fit.

Millions of thanks to Walker and Alex for the endless conversations and guidance. And too Julien for the nudge.
